DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Mario Vairo, 84, of Dobbs Ferry, died Friday, Feb. 27.
Born in the Bronx, he was the son of the late Joseph and Angela Vairo. On April 10, 1955, he married Viola Petruzzellis, and they lived in Dobbs Ferry since 1969. Vairo was the former principal of I.S. 116 Rafael Hernandez Intermediate School in the Bronx.
He is survived by his children, Stephen, Thomas (Michele) and Susan; and one brother-in-law. He was predeceased by his wife, Viola, and his son Matthew.
Visiting hours are Monday, March 2 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Ave., Dobbs Ferry. A Mass of the Resurrection will be Tuesday, March 3, at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Dobbs Ferry.
