DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. - Mildred Prael, a resident of Dobbs Ferry since 1954, Oct. 20. She was 93.
Prael was born in Milan, Minn. , to Hazel and Oscar Hofstad. She attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D. She received her Masters degree in voice from Columbia teachers college. She was the choir director at Our Lady of Pompeii Church and taught music at Sacred Heart School, both in Dobbs Ferry.
Prael is survived by her sons, Francis, Jr. (Gilda) and William (Elizabeth); three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Francis Prael; a brother; and a sister.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22 at Our Lady of Pompeii.
