Rose M. Tisi, 87, Of Dobbs Ferry

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Rose M. Tisi, 87, a longtime resident of Dobbs Ferry, died Tuesday, July 28.

The youngest of five children, she was born in Ardsley, New York, to the late Giuseppe and Maria Perillo and attended Ardsley schools. After graduation, she worked for Crucible Steel in Manhattan. In 1953, she married her husband, the late Anthony Tisi, and moved to Dobbs Ferry, where they raised two daughters.

When her children were both in school, she returned to work, first at the Lincoln Farm Camp offices in Ardsley, then at Abbott Union Free School District in Irvington, New York, where she retired as secretary to the superintendent.

Tisi was a member of the Sacred Heart Sodality, the Dobbs Ferry Woman's Club, the Ardsley Historical Society and both the Ardsley and Dobbs Ferry Senior Citizen groups.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Michael) Shevchuk, Carol (Frank) Savino and two grandchildren.

She is predeceased by three brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 30 from 6-8 p.m. and Friday, July 31 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.at the Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Ave, Dobbs Ferry. A mass of the resurrection will be held Saturday, Aug. 1 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Dobbs Ferry.
