Salvatore C. Belfi, 74, Longtime Dobbs Ferry Resident

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -- Salvatore C. Belfi, 74, a longtime resident of Dobbs Ferry, died Tuesday, Sept. 1. 

Born in Yonkers, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Anna Belfi. Belfi served in the 82nd Airborne in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper. He worked as a tree climber for Community Tree Service in Dobbs Ferry for many years. 

He was a member of the Dobbs Ferry American Legion and a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii Church. 

He is survived by his brother-in-law, John (Angelina) Morgante. 

His wife, Patricia, died in 2009. 

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Ave., Dobbs Ferry. 

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, at Our Lady of Pompeii Church in Dobbs Ferry.
