Steffani Selvaggio, 95, Lifelong Hastings-on-Hudson Resident

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - Steffani Selvaggio, a lifelong resident of Hastings-on-Hudson, died Nov. 14. She was 95.

Selvaggio was born Jan. 19, 1918, to Casimere and Adeline Kulsha. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1936. She worked at The Reader's Digest in Pleasantville for over 30 years where she sang in The Digest's Choir. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church and Choir, The Hastings Busy Bees and Senior Canteen and The Hastings Mothers' Club. She volunteered at Hillside Elementary School, The Hastings Historical Society and The Hastings Library.

Selvaggio is survived by her daughter, Annette (Bill) Borowitz of Hastings; sister, Stella Totoro of Raleigh, N.C.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Blaise Selvaggio; sisters, Anne Mueller, Lena Riolo; and brothers, Michael and Frank Kulsha.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18 at St. Matthew's R.C. Church in Hastings. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Selvaggio's memory to the Hastings Ambulance Corp., The Hastings Mothers' Club or The Hastings Historical Society.
