HASTINGS, N.Y. - Susan (nee Ecker) Schall of Hastings died Dec. 29. She was 71.
Schall was a graduate of Yonkers High School and attended Hunter, Lehman and New Paltz colleges and Pace University, earning a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts and Masters in Media and Educational Administration. She was a retired teacher and administrator in the Yonkers Public Schools, at the Martin Luther King School and School 19. She was author of the novel, "Spirit". She was active in Hadassah, Temple Emanu-el and local politics in Yonkers.
Schall is survived by her husband Franklin Schall; son, Gary Schall (Kimiko); daughter, Laura Leckrone (Tom); four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; sisters, Glenda Lewis, Lois Intravio and Nancy Sapir; and brother, Jim Ecker.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 2 at 11:30 a.m. at the Weinstein Memorial Chapel on Central Ave. in Yonkers.
