ARDSLEY, N.Y. -- The Ardsley Fire Department is scheduled to hold a smoke drill Thursday evening, Oct. 24.
The department is set to conduct the drill between 5 and 9 p.m. at 50 Heatherdell Road, accoridng to a letter from Ardsley Village Manager George Calvi.
"That evening the volunteer members of the Ardsley Fire Department and ASVAC, the Ardsley Secor Volunteer Ambulance Corp, will be holding a 'smoke drill,'" Calvi said in the letter. "This is essentially a training opportunity for our first responders, made possible by the owner of the home who is planning to have the building demolished in the next few weeks."
Calvi noted that Fire Chief Mark Florkowski has assured him that Florkowski "will have notices of this training event hand-delivered to all the adjacent and nearby property owners so that no one gets too excited by all the activity," according to the letter.
