Ardsley Traffic Stop Leads To Driver's Arrest

ARDSLEY, N.Y. – Ardsley Police arrested a Bronx woman Saturday after a routine traffic stop revealed she was driving illegally.

Lacy Patterson, 47, was charged with driving with a suspended license, a misdemeanor, and driving without tail lights, a violation. Patterson was pulled over on Saw Mill River Road for having broken tail lights, and the police officer discovered her license had been suspended for failure to appear for a summons, according to a police report. Patterson is scheduled to appear in court at 2 p.m. July 9. Also on the Ardsley Police blotter:

Rollover crash: A vehicle rollover occurred near 112 Ridge Road at 2:42 p.m. Friday. The driver told officers he swerved to avoid a small animal and lost control of the car, which then rolled down an embankment. The driver did not sustain any injuries and no other cars were involved, said Lt. Carl Calabresi. Suspicious caller: Police investigated suspicious activity reported by an Ardsley resident who told police he had received several calls in the past month from someone claiming to be from a chimney sweeping company, Calabresi said. When the resident refused the chimney services, the caller became irate. Police attempted to track the number, but it was disconnected with no further information available.

Family fight: Police responded to a fight at 468 Ashford Ave. at 2:53 a.m. Saturday. The individuals involved in the altercation were brother and sister, and refused to give statements to the police. A friend drove both siblings home, Calabresi said.

That's just sick: An Ardsley resident reported a sick person exhibiting suspicious activity at 9 American Legion Drive about 10 p.m. Tuesday. After arriving on the scene and investigating, officers determined the person was simply sick from the flu. No medical attention was required, Calabresi said.
