Car Damaged On Villard Avenue In Hastings

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Police said a resident reported her car was damaged between 8:40 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, while parked on Villard Avenue. Hastings police said the driver’s side mirror was damaged.

The following items also were reported by Hastings police:

Truck Vandalism: A resident reported the windows on his 1995 Ford truck were broken between Monday, Aug. 20, and Tuesday, Aug. 21, on Farragut Avenue.

Misplaced Cart: A resident reported Tuesday, Aug. 21, that an A&P shopping cart had been placed on one of the statues in front of the Hastings-on-Hudson Public Library. The cart was removed and A&P was notified to claim the cart.

Raccoon Drops In: About 1:20 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, a resident on Olinda Avenue reported a raccoon had fallen through a skylight in the home. Police determined the animal could be contained in a room until animal control was available the next morning.

Erratic Traffic Light: A caller reported the traffic light at Edgars Lane and Broadway was cycling slowly about 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23. Police observed the light and documented a cycle time of one minute and 15 seconds. A second observation yielded a time of five minutes. The light was repaired and working properly the next day.
