DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – A Dobbs Ferry man was arrested on Sept. 20 after a domestic assault incident was reported at the Springhurst Elementary School parking lot. Mario Piombino, 44, was arrested after police said he punched the victim in the face and was charged with third-degree assault, a class A misdemeanor. Piombino was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.

Police are investigating an incident of damaged property that occurred at the Getty gas station in Dobbs Ferry on Sept. 22 between 3 and 4 p.m. A 33-year-old Dobbs Ferry resident reported someone scratched expletive phrases on the hood and trunk of his 2004 BMW with a sharp object. The damage is valued at more than $200. Police have video surveillance of the crime and said the man did not know who damaged his car.
Police investigated a larceny from a vehicle after a 67-year-old Dobbs Ferry resident reported the plastic center hubcaps from all four tires on his 2003 Chevy were stolen. The theft occurred sometime between 10 a.m., Sept. 15, and 7:30 p.m., Sept. 17, while the car was parked on Hilldale Road. The stolen hubcaps are valued at $200.
Police investigated a larceny from a vehicle after a 36-year-old Yonkers man reported a nylon briefcase containing keys was stolen from his 2002 Jeep. The crime happened between 5 to 6 p.m., Sept. 14, while the car was parked on Estherwood Avenue.
A larceny was reported at Dobbs Ferry High School on Sept. 20 after a student told police a $30 watch was taken from his gym bag in the school’s locker room. The bag was not locked in a locker.
Police investigated a possible case of unlawful attempted entry after a Dobbs Ferry resident reported an air-conditioning unit was moved from a first-floor window. The unit was moved sometime between 2 p.m., Sept. 20, and 11 a.m., Sept. 23. The resident told police nothing was missing from the house and police determined no one had entered the property.
