DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Two people were stabbed and a Dobbs Ferry resident was charged with felony assault Sunday during college party on Main Street, Dobbs Ferry Police reported Monday.

The third victim was assaulted with a tree branch and was taken to the hospital, police said.

A 19-year-old Mercy College student from Yorktown Heights was taken to Dobbs Ferry Hospital with multiple stab wounds, according to a police report, after being stabbed with a knife during a confrontation with two other men at the party sometime between 1:40 and 2:40 a.m. Sunday.

Dobbs Ferry Police reviewed videotapes from police surveillance cameras in the area, which led to the arrest of Joseph Christian, 25, of Dobbs Ferry.

The house party, which was held at an apartment on Main Street leased by female students who attend Mercy College, included underage drinking, police said.

The victim discovered he had been stabbed when he noticed blood on his shirt and was taken to the hospital by friends. When the friends returned to the party they were told the assailants had returned, police said. Another altercation ensued, at which time a 20-year-old Mercy College student was struck with a tree branch. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Police said the third victim, a 19-year-old Mercy student from Medford, N.Y., also sustained knife wounds that were not serious and refused medical attention.

Christian was charged with two counts of assault in the second degree, a class D felony, in connection with the stabbings. He also was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor. Christian was arraigned Monday and sent to Westchester County Jail in lieu of  $5,000 bail.

The police investigation is ongoing and a second suspect is being sought in connection with the assault on the 20-year-old,
