DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Westchester County Police are continuing their investigation after a pedestrian was killed attempting to cross the Saw Mill River Parkway Wednesday night after he was struck by a car traveling northbound on the parkway.
The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. when the man was crossing from the west side of the parkway over to the east side at Lawrence Street, according to Westchester County Police.
The driver who struck the pedestrian stopped at the scene along with his female passenger. Three witnesses also stopped and were questioned by police.
Kieran O’Leary, public information officer for the Westchester County Police, said that the driver has been cooperative and alcohol does not appear to be a factor at this time.

Police are attempting to notify the victim’s family, as well as determine who had the right of way at the time of the accident.
