Hastings Police: Student Charged After Throwing Chair

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Hastings police said they responded to Graham Windham School Thursday after a student threw a chair at a staff member, causing injury to his arm.

The student was taken to police headquarters, processed and released to school staff. The student was charged with second degree harassment and scheduled to appear in court July 11.

Police responded to a report of a loud party on Sheldon Place June 24 and found the source to be a small group of people listening to the radio. The group went into a house after police informed them of the complaint. Two hours later police were called back to the same group after by the same person who called earlier. Seven adults were found listening to music and left the area after police informed them of the second complaint, according to police. Here Kitty, Kitty:

A resident on Old Broadway called police to report a large cat growling in the area June 24. The caller told police he thought it was a bobcat or mountain lion, but couldn’t confirm because he never saw the animal. No Skateboards Here:

A caller reported individuals skateboarding on her driveway June 24 and was concerned for their safety after they left her property and began to ride on Villard Avenue, according to police. Patrol officers caught up with the individuals and found them to be wearing appropriate safety gear. Next Stop:

An individual reported a panhandler at the MTA train station around 10 p.m. June 25. The subject told police the person had marks on his harm and was wearing a green baseball cap. Police arrived on the scene and located the man on River Street, where it was determined he was waiting for a train to Yonkers. No violations were observed, according to police

Deer Spotted:

A caller reported two fawns were in a parking lot in the area of 615 Broadway. The deer had left by the time police arrived.
