MAMARONECK, N.Y. – Mamaroneck Police were investigating what they called a suspicious death of a 4-year-old boy in his home at 1035 E. Boston Post Road.

The cause of death was unknown, and the incident was being treated as suspicious, police said Monday afternoon.

Police were called at 10:20 a.m. Monday by a family member asking them to check on the boy's mother.

Before entering a bedroom in the residence, the officers said they saw the 4-year-old boy's body and that his mother was "semi-conscious."

The mother was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
