Dobbs Ferry Man, 20, Charged With Strangulation, Police Say

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Jose L. Osorio, Jr., a 20-year-old Dobbs Ferry resident, has been charged with strangulation in the second degree after he allegedly choked a Phoenix Academy resident, causing the resident to lose consciousness and sustain facial injuries, on Saturday, Nov. 15, according to Yorktown police.

Police say a call was received from Phoenix Academy reporting a past assault. Officers responded to the scene and following an investigation arrested Osorio for the charges, according to police. 

Following processing at police headquarters on the charge, Osorio Jr was arraigned by a judge who served Osorio Jr. with a temporary order of protection and then remanded him to the Westchester County Jail on $25,000 bail. Osorio Jr. is scheduled to answer the charge in Yorktown Court on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m.
