In 2011, Dante Beamon, 31, pleaded guilty to felony counts of first-degree attempted rape and burglary for his role in a November 2010 incident in her dorm at the college.

According to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, at approximately 1:30 a.m. on November 13, 2010, Beamon entered his victim’s dorm and demanded she remove her clothing and they have sex. Beamon was asked to leave repeatedly before strangling her with a piece of her clothing. She was able to struggle and get away before seeking help.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Beamon a level three threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.”

Beamon, who formerly was from White Plains but not resides on South Road in Poughkeepsie, is currently under parole and under a 15-year post release supervision by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. He is scheduled to be supervised through 2031.
