Man Reports Ex-In-Law Tried To Hit Him With Car In Dobbs Ferry

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – A Yonkers man told police that his ex-mother-in-law attempted to hit him with her car Aug. 5 in a Beacon Hill Drive driveway in Dobbs Ferry.

The 41-year-old man told police the woman pulled into the driveway near him and accelerated quickly, then stopped abruptly. He said the car hit his upper thigh, but police did not observe any marks or bruises.

He said he intends to pursue criminal charges.

The Dobbs Ferry police also reported the following incidents:

• A male resident of Children’s Village accused a male staff member of striking him Aug. 2, police said. After an investigation, police reported the staff member said he was only trying to wake up the 18-year-old resident. No arrests were made.

• A 51-year-old Dobbs Ferry woman told police Aug. 4 she received two threatening text messages from an unknown number. Police attempted to reach the number with negative results. The investigation remained open.

• A 20-year-old Hastings resident was arrested in the waterfront parking lot in Dobbs Ferry on a charge of unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. A patrol was checking the parking lot when a 2005 Honda Element was observed on the north end of the lot. When police approached, they found three men in the gazebo and told them the park was closed. The men left on foot, police said. Police attempted to locate a parking permit on the car and saw a bag of leafy substance, later determined to be marijuana, in plain sight on the seat of the car. Police found the three men, and one admitted to being the owner of the car and was arrested.
