WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - Police in Irvington are cautioning homeowners to be wary and to lock up following a rash of auto larcenies in the village.

The Irvington Police Department issued an alert on Tuesday warning that on Monday night, there were several unlocked vehicles entered and ransacked in the south end of the village with property stolen overnight.

Police noted that purses, wallets, laptops, cell phones or anything of value should not be left in a parked vehicle, and they should be locked overnight.

Anyone with information regarding the break-ins or who may spot someone or something suspicious peering into any vehicles have been asked to contact police by calling (914) 591-8080.
