Two Charged With Gun, Cocaine, Marijuana Possession In Greenburgh Stop

 New York Sate Police arrested two Bronx men on gun and drug charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 87  in Greenburgh on Friday, Dec. 11, according to officials.

Algernon D. Martin, 19, and Vashan J. Chiddick, 22, were in a vehicle stopped for allegedly speeding on the Thruway. During the stop, Troopers discovered a loaded .45 caliber hand gun, a small quantity of cocaine, and marijuana. Martin is already on probation for third-degree robbery, police said. 

Martin and Vashan were charged with second- degree criminal possession of a weapon, seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana, police said. 

Martin was remanded in lieu of $50,000 cash bail and Chiddick was remanded in lieu of $20,000 cash bail. Both men are scheduled back in Court on Dec. 18, police said.
