Yonkers Man Charged With Attempted Murder In Hastings

Hastings Police arrested a Yonkers man for second-degree attempted murder in connection with a stabbing on Saw Mill River Road.

Police found the wounded victim around 9:30 p.m. Monday, after receiving a report of a stabbing at 150 Saw Mill River Road, said Lt. David Dosin with the Hastings-on-Hudson Police.

Hastings Police Officers responded along with officers from the Greenburgh Police Department. A victim was located at the scene suffering from numerous stab wounds, Dosin said.

 The victim was transported to the Westchester County Medical Center. The suspect, David Rojas, 38, fled the scene prior to the arrival of police. Surrounding jurisdictions were notified and Rojas was captured a short time later by the Yonkers Police Department.

Upon further investigation by the Greenburgh Police Department, it was determined that the crime had been committed in Hastings. After a lengthy investigation led by the Greenburgh Police Department with the assistance of the Hastings Police Department, Rojas was charged with second-degree attempted murder and attempted assault, Dosin said.

He is currently awaiting arraignment in the Greenburgh Town Court.
