Game on is NOT going to pay tax on the property. The town is. The tax money is going to be paid for by the town by taking the money Game on is paying for rent and using that.Funny thing is the tax bill is almost equal to what the rent is going to be.Also once the property is developed and reassessed the tax rate will be higher and the town will be renting this property at a loss that the tax payers of Greenburgh will have to pay. That is not good business for the town, excellent deal(somewhat shady it seems) for Game on..The Paul has announced that the leaf pick up the town has done in the past has been abolished to "save the town money". So now home owners have lost a benefit that they had for years, paid for thru their property tax.Homeowners now have to buy bags and bag leaves themselves, our pay the gardeners/landscape company to remove leaves from properties. He came up with this because he probably spent the money -around $140,000. on environmental Phase 1 and 2 testing for this project on it.
I'm tired of there not being enough fields for our kids and having to drive all over the place to rent field space. The Fieldhouse is a good idea and will be great for sports. I've looked into the accusations that they are not paying taxes, that's simply not true. I've heard House of Sports has been sending out mailers saying that to prevent local competition. That doesn't sit well with me. Frankly, I and people I know can't afford their prices. I hope several new facilities open and there is more choice and lower prices for everyone. I'll be voting YES.
What makes you think that Fieldhouse price will be any different? If you want your kids to play on possible cancer causing contaminated land with high voltage lines that have cancer causing radiation emissions then yeah vote for the bubble. Town needs tax relief and this sweetheart deal for Game on will only cost Greenburgh tax payers and offer no relief.
Dear daywalkz23: Clearly, NIMBY's are not the only opposition. I'm going to assume you live in one of the Villages?
What a bunch of BS. A vote will not matter. Feiner has already signed the lease and ditto everything Hal said. Sell the property for 3 mil and collect tax. We are not landlords nor should we make a financial investment in private business but this will not occur as Paulie Boy will surely get HIS way. I wonder who the "friend" is here? Robb Gould (partner at Game On) or some other. Another lawsuit on the horizon, folks.
Who wants an empty lot sitting around. NIMBY's only oppose. I will vote yes.
There would not be an empty lot were Feiner to obey the law and sell it.
Thereafter what Feiner calls "revenue to the Town" would continue to flow, the taxing Districts would receive what is due them AND the purchaser would develop what it allowed under the existing zoning. Goodbye to the "vacant" lot and thus, goodbye to your written objection. And under the existing zoning there would be a lot less vehicle traffic, a less discordant visual affront and thus your "walks" would be safer and quieter.

Feiner has no problem ignoring and violating any law he doesn't like. THAT's why we have this loss-leader proposal for the Town and why he decided to go the referendum route. The two previous posters have nailed it.
NO!!!!!!!!!!
NO! The Lease is in violation of County Law
NO!! The Lease is in violation of Greenburgh Zoning
NO!!!The Lease is in violation of Greenburgh Height Restrictions
NO!!!! The Lease is in violation of a fair RFP process
NO!!!!! The Lease is in violation of SEQRA
NO!!!!!! The Lease provides little relief to Greenburgh yet a windfall to GameON
NO!!!!!!! The Lease and its low, low, low rent is a Greenburgh taxpayer subsidy
NO!!!!!!!! The Lease adds more traffic to the same intersection as Fortress Bible
NO!!!!!!!!! The Lease already signed by Feiner cannot be voided by Referendum
NO!!!!!!!!!! The Lease is not about soccer for kids but corruption spelled Feiner
Any confusion as to where I stand?

This property should be sold to a developer who will conform to the zoning which is RESIDENTIAL. I pay $20,000 a year in taxes and should not have to have an 80' high silver bubble looming over my back yard. It should be sold so that the taxpayers can recover the taxes lost on the property over the last decade. How is that the Town is allowing this non-conforming use in a residentail neighborhood and there will be no SEQR review and no traffic studies - didn't they just lose a $5 million dollar lawsuit with Fortress Bible Church because they denied them to build in this SAME residential zone even though the zoning permits this use under Federal Law? The whole thing seems shady to me. The rent the Town will earn will never properly compensate the taxpayers. Feiner needs to go - this is yet another negative impact on our wallets.
