According to Village Manager George Calvi, polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Ardsley Community Center, 18 Center St., and at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 2 Revolutionary Road.
Kaboolian, who is seeking her second two-year term after first being elected to the board in 2012, says there are several issues facing Ardsley including taxes, a crumbling infrastructure and increasing environmental initiatives.
“I would like to see improvements to Ardsley’s downtown area, both aesthetically and with new businesses,” Kaboolian told Daily Voice. “However, I think we have to be mindful of protecting the character of the village and our quality of life. I will work to make Ardsley a great place to live, raise a family and grow old.”
Another issues of importance to Kaboolian is affordable housing.
“I support more affordable housing,” said Kaboolian. “I support compliance with Westchester’s housing settlement with the federal government. “
Kaboolian holds a bachelor's degree from SUNY Fredonia and a law degrer from New York Law School. She is admitted to the bar of the State of New York, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern District of new York, and is a partner at the Abbey Spanier law firm.
According to his Voter411.org profile, Deputy Mayor Gary Malone has held his current position since 2011 and was first elected a trustee in 2004.
“My basic approach is to strive to improve the quality of life in Ardsley, including by continuing to focus on improving downtown Ardsley, both commercially and aesthetically, building on our prudent fiscal management, ensuring compliance with quality of life regulations and being responsive to residents,” Malone told Voter411.org.
Malone holds a law degree from University of California at Berkeley and a bacherlor's degree in political science SUNY Oneonta.
“I am in favor of affordable housing,” said Malone, according to Voter411.org. “I believe all communities should do what they can to increase the supply of affordable housing.”
A trustee's annual salary is $2,400.
