HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Hastings-on-Hudson Waterfront Infrastructure Committee will have its first public workshop at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the James Harmon Community Center on Main Street.
According to a statement by Mayor Peter Swiderski, The Village Board of Trustees appointed the committee to assist the board by coming up with the location and key features of desired parks, roads, and infrastructure.
"We also hope that the (committee) can help in identifying likely activities and uses for the parks, open spaces and water-related uses so we can preliminarily locate key waterfront amenities, such as boat access points, piers, floating docks, marinas, etc.," Swiderski said. "This meeting is an important part of the village's planning for the use of the waterfront, especially the public and open spaces. Participation in this process is crucial and welcome."
The discussion about the revitalization of the Hastings-on-Hudson industrial waterfront has been ongoing for nearly 15 years. The purpose of Wednesday's workshop is to share the committee's thoughts on the physical layout of the property and brainstorm a program for uses and activities in the public spaces.
