Results Filter In From Contested Westchester County Races

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - White Plains Mayor Thomas Roach has taken a sizable lead over challenging Republican Milagaros Lecuona with 36 percent of districts reporting as early vote totals start rolling in from Westchester.

With 17 of 46 districts reporting, Roach has a commanding lead, garnering 2,789 votes (69 percent) against Lecuona's 1,295 total votes, according to an unofficial tally from the the Westchester County Board of Elections.

Other races include: 

In District 6, which represents Harrison, Rye Brook, Port Chester, incumbent David Gelfarb, a Republican, trails Nancy Barr, a Democrat, narrowly, with 2,112 votes against her 2,736, with 53 percent of votes counted.

In District 7, which represents Harrison, Larchmont, Mamaroneck, New Rochelle, Rye, incumbent Democrat Catherine Parker leads Republican Norman Rosenblum by a count of 3,117 votes to 1,993 with 34 percent of districts reporting.

In District 10, which represents Eastchester, Tuckahoe, New Rochelle, incumbent Republican Sheila Marcotte trailed Democrat Damon Maher with just 43 percent of the vote to his 57 percent (2,073-2,785), with 27 of 66 districts reporting.

In District 14, which represents Yonkers, Mount Vernon, Democrat Gwen Dean leads incumbent David Tubiolo, a Republican, 1,727-1,586 with 44 percent of districts reporting.

In District 15, which represents Yonkers, Bronxville, incumbent Republican Gordon Burrows leads  Ruth Walter, a Democrat with a total of 2,626 votes to his challenger's 2.347 votes with 41 percent of districts reporting.

In District 16, which represents Yonkers, Democrat Christopher Johnson dominated Independent Nicole Benjamin, garnering 88 percent (841 votes) of the early vote with 21 percent of districts reporting results.

In District 17, which represents Yonkers, incumbent Democrat Virgina Perez leads independent candidate London Reyes with 547 votes against 94, with 10 of 58 districts reporting. 

Municipal races:

In Dobbs Ferry, Democrat Robert McLoughlin leads Andrew Loose, of the People's Choice for Dobbs Ferry with 240 votes against 56 for his Republican adversary with 11 percent of districts reporting. 

In Eastchester, longtime incumbent Republican Supervisor Anthony Colavita leads Democrat Michael Denning in a close early vote, garnering 999 votes to his challenger's 872 with 20 percent of districts reporting. Incumbent Republican Trustees Luigi Marcoccia and Theresa Nicholson are running unopposed for two seats.

In Harrison, incumbent Republican Marlane Amelio is trailing as she opposes two incumbent Democrats in Frank Gordon and Richard Dionisio, with just 25 percent of the total vote with 35 percent of votes counted.

With political tensions on the rise in Mount Vernon, Deborah Reynolds is poised to win the vote for City Comptroller, with nearly 90 percent of the vote with 40 percent of districts reporting. Meanwhile, a heated race for City Council seats sees Democrat challenger Janice Duarte taking an early lead with 31 percent of the vote against incumbents Marcus Griffith's 25 percent and Republican Steven Thomas' 7 percent. A second challenger, Democrat Delia Farquharson has 27 percent of the early vote. 

In Rye City, Republican incumbent Mayor Joseph Sack trailed Democrat challenger Josh Cohn early, with 128 votes to his 236 with just one district reporting results.
