The church, the former Christian Life Fellowship Church at 40-48 Hudson St., which dates back to 1874, was sold last year to Hudson Holdings NY LLC of Kew Gardens, New York for $4.7 million, according to lohud.com.
If approved by the board, the church would be razed and replaced with 156 apartment units and a 153-car parking lot, according to the site plans submitted for review.
In addition, the company wants to add 1,850-square-feet of restaurant space on the ground floor. The building would also include resident amenities such as a gym, conference room, party room and more.
The church demolition has received approval from the city after it was submitted to the city's Landmarks Preservation Board for review and no action was taken, said lohud.com.
The church's former director, the Rev. Robert Ilardi of the Christian Life Fellowship Church said he sold the building due to the cost of upkeep and heating and an ever-shrinking congregation, added lohud.com.
The item -- No. 12 on the agenda -- will be heard during the meeting which begins at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Planning Bureau Conference Room, third floor, 87 Nepperhan Ave., Yonkers.
