Two Port Authority police officers casually passed her, then immediately turned and doubled back.

"She's 223 feet above the water, crying hysterically," an officer told Daily Voice. "It didn't look good."

One of the two, Port Authority Police Officer Juan Guzman, has rescued several would-be jumpers from the span.

He and his partner spoke with her.

"She's a beautiful girl with a wonderful life ahead of her," an officer told Daily Voice. "She has a good job -- she works with kids.

"But she had a fight with her girlfriend and didn't know how to deal with it."

The girl didn't resist as the officers took her into custody.

She was taken to Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus for evaluation and treatment, the authority's Joseph Pentangelo told Daily Voice.

It was the Port Authority Police Department's 55th suicide intervention at the GWB this year.
