Jeffrey Desir was charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance - and two counts of unlawful possession of marijuana.

During a routine patrol near the Exit 23 tolls of the I-87 in Albany, troopers say they stopped Desir for vehicle and traffic law violations and detected an odor of marijuana coming from his vehicle.

After conducting a search of Desir and his vehicle, marijuana and crack cocaine were located.

Desir was arrested and arraigned in the City of Albany Court, and is being held in the Albany County Jail on $5,000 bail.
