Woman With Child In Backseat Busted For DUI After Blowing Through Light In Woodbridge: Police

A woman who blew through a red light while swerving her vehicle in Virginia was allegedly intoxicated with a kid in the car, Prince William County Police investigators said.

Leslie Evelyn Tabora Pineda, 32, of Woodbridge, is facing multiple charges following an incident that played out in her hometown on Wednesday, Nov. 30, according to police.

Shortly after 11 p.m. on Wednesday, an officer from the department on patrol near the intersection of Minnieville Road and Smoketown Road in Woodbridge stopped a vehicle driven by Tabora Pineda when she disregarded a solid red light and failed to maintain her lane of travel.

According to police, the officer determined that the driver, Tabora Pineda, was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and she was taken into custody without incident after refusing to take a test to determine her blood alcohol concentration.

While investigating the incident, officials said that officers found a 5-year-old girl in the back of the car who was ultimately turned over to a sober family member.

Tabora Pineda was charged with:

  • Felony child neglect;
  • DUI;
  • Unreasonable refusal.

Her next court date is pending and she is being held without bond in Prince William County.
