Hirsch replaces the current assistant principal, Rudy Arietta, who will be taking over as principal at the close of the 2015 school year.

Hirsch began his education career in 1995 as a special educator in the New York City public schools system, before accepting a position in Chappaqua in 1999. Hirsch comes to Ardsley High School from Horace Greely High School, where he taught special education, Social Studies, and co-created a dedicated student-centered learning center within the district.

“I'm looking forward to joining the administration at Ardsley and am grateful for the opportunity to serve in a district that clearly values its students and is committed to academic excellence, global citizenship and to maintaining a strong partnership between students, parents and teachers,” Hirsch said.

Hirsch has a BA in political science from Drew University, a masters in special education from Long Island University and a masters in educational leadership from Lehman College. He lives in Pleasantville with his wife, Kathy, and their two children.
