Ardsley PTA To Honor Four Educators With Jenkins Awards

ARDSLEY, N.Y. - The Ardsley Parent Teachers Association will honor four individuals for their contributions to the youth of the village when the group hosts its Jenkins Awards ceremony Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Ardsley High School.

The annual award will be presented to Nancy Baird, in memory of her husband, Rod Baird, a former English teacher in the high school, PTA volunteer Deborah Pence, Joanne Sold (volunteer, Ardsley School Board), and Ardsley Middle School music teacher Frank Squillante.

The Ardsley High School Select Chorus and a middle school string quartet will perform at the ceremony. The Jenkins Award Selection Committee received a significant number of nominations for remarkable individuals, and selected this year's award winners from among these nominations. 

The nine members of the Committee are: Janis Barber, Judith Calder (Co-Chair), Meeghan Prunty Edelstein, Christine Ginzberg, Adam Gluck, Jody Monkovic, Judy Kunstadt Moskowitz, Laurie Leibowitz, and Robin Rosenberg (Co-Chair).

The Ardsley PTA will also honor retiring faculty members; Patricia Balassi, Regina Keller, Linda Levitz, Rosemarie Marcus, Jane Marks, Olga Pecora, Joann Pugliese, Alison Schorpp, Cheryl Stroud, Linnea Tucker and Dr. Charlene Von Ohlen.

Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the evening.
