ARDSLEY, N.Y. -- Ardsley School District's class of 2015 welcomed the Class of 2027 to the Ardsley School District in one of the most heart-warming traditions celebrated within the schools on Friday, Oct. 17.

Seniors began the day reminiscing and enjoying stories from their years in the Ardsley School District at the annual Senior Breakfast. They then shuttled down to the Concord Road School cafeteria in their Class of 2015 t-shirts for an assembly with the kindergarten class.

Madison Thompson, senior class president, introduced the senior class and shared her memory of being a kindergartner on this day 13 years ago and how special it was for her and all her classmates to be part of this year's celebration. The kindergartners, all wearing their Class of 2027 t-shirts, in turn responded by singing a special song to all the seniors and thanking the seniors for being at Concord Road.

The Class of 2015 then presented the kindergartners with a hand-painted bookcase filled with books donated from their personal bookshelves. When the principal, Melissa Szymanski, explained that this bookcase would be in the primary office and kindergartners would be given the opportunity to visit the bookcase on their birthdays and select a book to take home and keep – the kindergartners went wild with excitement.

After the assembly, the seniors followed the kindergartners back to their classrooms and joined together to read books.
