ARDSLEY, N.Y. - Residents of the Ardsley School District approved the 2013-14 school budget and re-elected incumbents Frank J. Hariton and current President Joanne G. Sold Tuesday.

Because the budget overrides the state mandated Tax Levy Capby 1.4p percent, it required 60 percent of the total votes for approval. The vote was 937-592 for a 61.2 percent edge.

The budget of $61,085,529 is an increase of more than $3 million over the 2012-13 budget of $57,995,471. That is a 5.33 percent increase. Taxpayers will see an increase of 4.80 percent.

The average tax increase would be $654 on a property valued at $654,000 and assessed at $18,312.

Hariton and Sold ran unopposed for three-year terms.
