Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-on-Hudson, Irvington Voters Approve School Budgets

IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- Voters in Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-on-Hudson and Irvington approved budgets on Tuesday for the 2016-17 school year, according to unofficial returns.

In Dobbs Ferry, the vote was 318 to 84 approving a proposed $42.4 million budget, which calls for a 1 percent increase in spending over this year.

In Hastings, the unofficial vote total showed that 1,066 voters were in favor of the $47 million spending plan while 226 rejected it, according to the district.

In Irvington, the $58.3 million school budget was approved by a vote of 746 to 252, according to unofficial returns. The annual spending plan will increase by about 1.1 percent over the current school year.

The top two vote-getters for Hastings Board of Election were elected. Here are the unofficial results:

Lisa Eggert Litvin - 894 votes
Doug Sundheim - 794 votes
Caryn Campbell - 450 votes
Wendy Naidich - 361 votes
24 write-in votes for other candidates
