Dobbs Ferry High Named Blue Star School

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -- Dobbs Ferry High School has been named a Blue Star School in recognition of its students’ performance on the 2012-2013 w!se (Working in Support of Education) Financial Literacy Certification Test.

Dobbs Ferry was just one of 194 schools in the country to earn a Blue Star award for Financial Literacy.

The WISE test is a national standardized test is administered to students after a course or unit on personal finance. Dobbs Ferry High School was one of 194 high schools nationwide to earn the Blue Star distinction.

In order to earn a “Blue Star" honor, a school must have a 75 percent minimum passing rate. Dobbs Ferry had a passing rate of 89 percent. The students that passed are designated Certified Financially Literate™ and earn a w!se CFL certificate.

Dobbs Ferry High School and the other Blue Star schools will be honored and receive a banner for their achievement at w!se’s 11th National MoneyPOWER Conference for Financial Literacy on November 5, 2013 at The McGraw-Hill Companies in New York City.
