The students worked in production teams and the groups spent three months developing the scripts, storyboarding, shooting footage and editing. The films are approximately six to seven minutes in length and are rated PG-13.

The 11th grade IB Film students “poetry project” films will also be shown during the evening event.

“This year’s IB films are reflective of the students’ hard work and a tight-knit group of seniors," IB Film teacher Andrew Fischbeck said. "They were extremely dedicated to the class and producing a great product. The kids put forth a wonderful effort and the audience will see their creativity in each story as it comes to life on the big screen.”

Eleventh- graders make movies and study film history and film analysis in the first year of the program. Students also take on the roles of writer, director, cinematographer and editor in the production of their original films.

As seniors, students make their final films for IB assessment, continue to practice film analysis, and do an in-depth study of movies from another culture. An introductory short film about “Team Work” will introduce the evening and highlights the planning and creative process that went into the student works. It was created by Nate Flaks, Ian Maddox, Tom Newman and Will Raderman.

Audience members will be treated to five ”feature” films which include two dramas, two horror films and one comedy.

• "The Two Views", a comedy, follows two students sitting in the Dean’s office while they speculate as to the reason they’ve been called down there.  Produced by Hunter Bock, Sarah Beaver and Keith Hickey, this film is entered in the annual Hendrick Hudson Film Festival. Winners will be announced Friday. • "Two or Three" is the story of a young man caught between the comfort of imagination and his desire to move on. The film is produced by Anthony Fiorenza, Jikku Samuel, Eric Brennan and Amanda Rossillo. • "In Problems" - A young man faces difficulties at home and makes some poor decisions as a result. Produced by Dennis Vilensky, Daniel Kudelka, John Lee and Nikash Nanavaty. • "Ring A Bell" - A young woman encounters and confronts her past when a stranger enters her home. It is produced by Bryana Cunningham, Yun Sun Roh, and Gary Lu. • "No. 6" is about a reporter in pursuit of an elusive story who chases a dangerous lead. This hair-raising film was produced by Adam Rosenkranz, Fatima Boozarjomehri, Nick Kost and Sarah Azizo. Fischbeck and fellow IB Film teacher Tom Falconetti will also offer opening remarks before showing four “Poetry Project” films. They include "Happiness", by Paul Monaghan; "There are Those Who Love to Get Dirty", by Mac Josh Reandelar; "This is Just to Say", by Will Brosnahan; and "Roosters", by Ben Hord.
