DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -- Dobbs Ferry Superintendent Lisa Brady is extending thanks to the community.

Brady recently issued a letter of thanks to parents, students and community members for their support of Dobbs Ferry Schools.

"On behalf of the Dobbs Ferry Schools, I would like to express our gratitude to a wonderful community that readily supports our vision and mission, and makes the 'impossible possible,'" Brady said. "In these times of challenging economic hurdles, such as the tax cap and unfunded mandates, our community has proved time and again that they value excellence in education by continuing to provide our schools with the necessary resources to enhance and advance our instructional program. This would be impossible without your help."

Brady also noted that district officials were thankful for the grants provided from the Dobbs Ferry Schools Foundation that are providing "direct aid to students and teachers in the classroom" and professional development for faculty and staff.

Brady thanked the Dobbs Ferry PTSA for being "the bedrock of our schools." She recognized that the fund-raising efforts from the PTSA has helped provide "a substantial financial contribution" that supports cultural arts programs.

Brady also thanked SPRING Community Partners for helping the economically-challenged students and families in need, Trailguides for continuing advocacy efforts for the "most vulnerable students," the parent Booster Clubs and the district's theater arts parents and volunteers.

"We are privileged to serve a community that truly understands and embraces a meaningful partnership with our schools," Brady said in the letter. "On behalf of the Board of Education, our students and staff – thank you for making our educational 'possibilities’ become a reality, and best wishes for the New Year."
