Dobbs Ferry Superintendent Blogs to Connect

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Dobbs Ferry superintendent Lisa Brady has created her own blog to share her thoughts about news in the school district in an attempt to connect with more students and parents.

“I thought that a brand new DFSD blog entitled “21st Century Link” would be a great way to chronicle my first year as Superintendent of Schools and simultaneously communicate with parents, teachers and students about what is going on in our District,” Brady said in a released statement.

Brady is in her first year in Dobbs Ferry and has expressed her desire to further the use of technology in classrooms.

“My passion is teaching and learning,” Brady said in the message to parents.  “How to engage students in the learning process and help empower them to be successful individuals in the 21st century is not only my goal as an educator, but the District’s mission as well.”

The blog will be a way for the district to build a bridge between home and school according to Brady.  The superintendent has said she plans to write at least two blog posts per month and welcomes feedback from parents to create an open discussion on various topics.

In her first blog post, Brady debates the use of technology in the classroom and how students as young as sixth grade recognize the importance of being digital.

“Without the available technology, middle school teachers all over the country struggle with trying to find ways to help students develop the strong organizational skills so necessary for success,” Brady said in her post.
