The Vixen of the Month award was created to honor one student athlete each month who has excelled in athletics and leadership at the Virginia college. The honor is awarded each month of competition during the academic year.

The award is designed to recognize student-athletes for excellence on the field and for being positive role models for the Sweet Briar community.

In a tri-meet with Bridgewater and Greensboro on Nov. 15, Smith took first place in two individual events- the 200 free (2:22.23) and 400 free (4:58.18). She was also second overall in the 100 free (1:06.91).

Smith placed in the top-three in each of her races as the Vixens lost to defending Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) champion Washington & Lee and split with Emory & Henry/Guilford over the weekend of November 7-8, earning the sophomore an ODAC weekly honor roll mention.
