Dobbs Ferry's Springhurst Set to Host Pumpkin Fair

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – The Dobbs Ferry PTSA will be hosting its annual pumpkin fair Saturday afternoon as it kicks off the Halloween season.  The pumpkin fair will be held at the Springhurst Elementary School from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Lisa Ferrara, Dobbs Ferry PTSA president, said she’s always been involved with fundraisers like the pumpkin fair.

“I have been working a lot with the preschool and I’ve always been on the board of directors there and worked in fundraising for them,” she said.

The pumpkin fair will feature horse-drawn hay rides, pumpkins for sale, games and prizes and live music.  Admission to the event is free and food, drinks and tickets for activities will be available for purchase.

Scary Gary and the Rest, the middle school band, will get the event started at 10 a.m. Other events, such as the Black Eyed Peas Boogie and a live chili cook-off, will take place throughout the day.

The pumpkin fair is rain or shine, but some events may be moved inside the school if it rains.  Volunteers are also needed for two hour shifts at the fair and to contribute baked goods and chili.
