Former MLK Athletic Director Making Mark At Lakeland Schools

SHRUB OAK, N.Y. -- Daily Voice talked with Hopewell Junction native Dan Belfi, the athletic director at the Lakeland Central School District, as part of our ongoing spotlight series on area athletic directors.

Interacting with student-athletes on a daily basis is one of the things Dan Belfi's loves about his job.

Belfi is currently the Lakeland Central School District's Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics, overseeing Lakeland and Walter Panas High School's programs.

Belfi attended John Jay High in East Fishkill, where he played soccer and wrestled for four years. He continued to wrestle at Springfield College, and is currently in his second year at Lakeland/Panas.

He also spent five years as a physical education teacher at Martin Luther King School in Hastings.
