A student and teacher at Sleepy Hollow High School recently teamed up to design an activity that would allow students and staff to share their appreciation. The activity is known as The Happiness Project and it was designed by teacher Noah Berger and student Danny Elia.

The goal of The Happiness Project is to "increase the level of joy in the Sleepy Hollow High School community," according to Berger.

School officials said recent studies show that the happiest people are those who most often show their gratefulness.

As part of the project, students, teachers and administrators were supplied with "a modest and simple slip of paper that asks who are you most thankful for at Sleepy Hollow High School and why," officials said.

The completed declarations of happiness are on display in the high school’s main hallway and officials say they "act as reminders to say thank you and be gracious for all that we have."
