Hastings Appoints Laurie Bauer Interim Director Of Special Education

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Hastings-on-Hudson School District has named Laurie Bauer as interim director of special education, according to Schools Superintendent Roy R. Montesano.

Bauer holds bachelor’s and a master’s degrees from Northern Michigan University and comes to Hastings with 18 years of experience as a special education administrator, and more than 15 years of classroom experience teaching second, third and special education grades.

Bauer replaces former Director of Special Education Deborah Augarten, who accepted the position as assistant superintendent of pupil personnel services for the White Plains City School District.

A SEPTA-sponsored informational “meet and greet” event with Bauer will be held at a later date.
