HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- A spirited group of Hastings High School seniors took over a section of the school's parking lot Tuesday to design and paint signs that will be posted in hallways welcoming a new year when school opens on September 6.
"Everyone kind of gets together to do this," senior Zena Marpet said. "We have a group of seniors who volunteer and decided today was a nice day for it." More than a dozen students stretched our large bands of brown paper and joined to paint slogans and welcome back messages that will be displayed throughout the high school. "These are all volunteers and we'll be doing this all week," Sylvie Kalikoff said. Its fun and its a beautiful day, so were here.
