Irvington High School Science Research Students Take Home Honors

IRVINGTON, N.Y. - Three Irvington High School sophomores recently won prizes for their research projects at the 2016 Westlake Science Fair.

“We are so proud of our students’ accomplishments and especially their dedication to the Science Research Program,” said Nadia Parikka, who co-advises the Science Research Program with Geraldine Winterroth.

Nicole Chase won second place in the Earth/planetary science category, while William Pascal placed third in the cellular/molecular biology category. Claire Song received third place in the medicine/health category. 

The three students competed against more than 460 first-year science research students from 28 Westchester County schools.

Senior research students judged the projects.

The fair took place on Saturday, June 4.
