Irvington Middle Schoolers Hit High Notes At Music Festival

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. - More than 250 music students from Irvington Middle School recently participated in the annual Music in the Parks festival at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, N.J.

The school’s music groups showcased their talents and were individually critiqued based on a range of performance criteria, according to a press release.

The orchestra and chamber ensemble received the highest rating of superior, the combined chorus and seventh- and eighth-grade concert band each received second-place ratings of excellent, and the solfège group ranked third with a rating of good, according to a press release.

The Irvington Middle School Chamber Ensemble received the Best Overall Orchestra award, and student Samantha Schoenfarber was ranked Best Overall Vocalist at the middle school level.
