Hudson Valley Honor Flight is part of the National Honor Flight Network, a nonprofit that brings veterans to Washington, D.C., for free to visit and reflect at memorials erected in their honor. The purpose of the prep meeting is to honor the World War II veterans for their service, for them to get to know each other and prepare them for their Honor Flight from Stewart Airbase in Newburgh to Washington to visit the World War II Memorial.

“WWII veterans are real-life superheroes,” said Glenn Marchi, director of safety and colonel in the New York National Guard, “Mercy College student veterans and volunteers are thrilled to have the opportunity to meet and honor America’s 20th-century heroes and thank them for their sacrifice defending our great nation.”

Email Marchi at gmarchi@mercy.edu or call 914-674-7661 if interested in participating as a volunteer for this event hosted by Mercy College.
