IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- The project on a school garden by students at Main Street School in Irvington has come to fruition, and students and staff members will be able to watch it grow this spring.
“We reached out to the Irvington Education Foundation through an off-cycle grant and the IEF Board voted to support our garden,” Principal Joyce Chapnick said. “The IEF will generously support the balance of the cost to build our garden.”
The school has already raised more than $7,258 through a number of fundraisers held this school year to offset the cost.
“We look forward to watching our garden grow,” Chapnick said. “Thanks to the IEF and to all of you for supporting this project.”
