Superintendent Applauds Dobbs Ferry Students

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Dobbs Ferry Superintendent Lisa Brady offered a roundup of news updates in the school district at the most recent board of education meeting, including a celebratory announcement for students next month.

“On April 26 we’re going to have kind of a high school celebration at our board meeting of all of these wonderful kids that have been involved in all of these things so we will recognize their great participation and their efforts at that time,” she said.

Some of the events that local students have been involved in that Brady was referring to include the recent Destination Imagination contest at Mercy College.

“Lots of really excited kids and parents, just a great way for all students to find ways to express themselves,” Brady said.  “Our kids did really well.  It was a lot of fun.  It was really nice to be so well represented in our community.  It was a great boon for Dobbs Ferry, the fact that we hosted the tournament at Mercy.”

Brady also praised the students who participated in the Intel Science Fair that was held at Sleepy Hollow High School and featured students from all across the county.

“Amazing, amazing kids from all over, but we had really, really great representation there,” she said of the participants.  “Just smart, bright kids were there.  What a testament to our high schools in this country.”

The distracted driving presentation given by Jacy Good at Dobbs Ferry High School last week was something that Brady said made the district incredibly proud.

“We don’t usually have assemblies where all of the kids are there but they were all there,” she said.  “They were amazing in the attention that they paid to that presentation and it really just wonderfully represented the district.”
