Bronxville Runner Mary Cain Third At World Meet

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Bronxville High School track star Mary Cain took her incredible talent overseas Friday and continued to dazzle fans.

Cain finished third in the first heat of the 1,500 meter race with a time of 4:14.77 at the International Association of Athletics Federation World Junior Championships in Barcelona. She finished just 0.13 seconds behind Great Britain’s Jessica Judd, who clocked in at 4:14.64. Kenyan runner Faith Chepngetich Kipyegon placed first at 4:10.17.

The trio qualified for the finals in the 1500m on Sunday at 7:05 p.m. local time and 1:05 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.
