DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. - The war stories of legendary and current Dobbs Ferry High School football teams will be shared Friday night when members of the Dobbs Ferry Reunion Committee host a dinner at the Doubletree Hotel in Tarrytown.
The reunion was organized in April and will begin a weekend of activities that continue with Saturday's Dobbs Ferry at Tuckahoe football game - a match between the top unbeaten teams in Westchester Class C and D. The festivities will also include the village's annual Ferry Festa street festival Saturday night.
Dobbs Ferry has one of the richest football histories in New York State, boasting four state titles, including last year's Class C championship.
The Reunion Committee organized a dinner featuring past players, coaches, cheerleaders, parents, spouses and supporters of the football program. There will be live entertainment, a four-hour open bar and door prizes.
Proceeds from the Friday night event will go to support all levels of the Dobbs Ferry Football program and to provide upgrades in equipment and uniforms and a college scholarship for a graduating senior.
Those interested in the Reunion Dinner may visit the group's web page to register at the reunion at dffootballreunion.com.
